Improvisational Quilt Blocks with Jodi Palinkas
June 1, 10:30-2pm
Drawing inspiration from the Gees Bend Quilters from Alabama, Jodi will teach participants how to rely on their artistic intuition to create beautiful, improvisational quilt blocks. This patchwork style/ approach can be used in a variety of fiber work to create exciting color and pattern combinations.
The Log Cabin quilt has long been considered the quintessential American quilt design. It is easily recognizable, beginning with a center square, adding strips in sequence , varying the color of the strips between light and dark. By alternating the sequence, many variations of the design can be achieved.
