Teaching Artist Exhibition: Celebrating our Artist Community!

The D.R.A.W. Kingston has the pleasure of working with a variety of teaching artists throughout the year during our community classes. However, rarely do we get the opportunity to view their independent work outside of the classroom. Therefore, the D.R.A.W. Gallery curated the Annual Teaching Artists Show for Fall 2023, to celebrate the teachers we appreciate so much.

The Annual Teaching Artists Show exhibits the magnificent work of Wayne Montecalvo, Tantana Kellner, Natalie Renganeschi, Ana O’Keefe, Lara Giordano, Beth Humphrey,  Laura Moriarty, Carol Struve, Judith Hoyt, Josh Kramb, Chris O’Neal and includes an installation by Maxine Leu. In addition, The D.R.A.W. Gallery intends to be a learning experience for the artistic youth, who are interested in the curatorial field.  Therefore, our P.U.G.G.s, Kylie Williams and Katie Cushman planned, designed and installed the work in the exhibition space to prepare the Teaching Artists Show.

The exhibition is intended to give back to our teaching artists, who give so much to the community through education and beauty. The show includes a wide range of mediums, which highlights each artist’s unique talents and styles.  The exhibition expresses each artist’s individual passions, inspiring the community of student artists, as well as themselves, to continue to create.

Although we hate to see this exhibition go,  the teaching artists’ work is coming down this upcoming weekend, Saturday, October 28th.  So stop by the D.R.A.W. Gallery and don’t miss your last opportunity to view the astonishing work of our beloved teachers!

As a side note, we are also excited to announce our next show! The sound exhibition Saturn Walk by China Blue, which opens on Saturday, November 4th and runs until Sunday, December 3rd.  We hope to see you at this exhibition as well!
